Gite FAQ
Is the house private or shared?
Maison Saint Antonin is a fully private, self-catering home—exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. It’s a luxurious, unshared space designed for comfort, calm, and complete retreat.
How many does the house sleep?
The house comfortably sleeps up to four adults, with two serene bedrooms each featuring a double bed—perfect for couples or friends seeking a restful, design-forward escape.
Is there onsite parking?
As the house is nestled in a 400-year-old medieval village, onsite parking isn’t available—our historic stone garage must remain clear. However, you’re welcome to pull up briefly to unload your luggage, and there’s plenty of free street parking throughout the village. The closest spots are just across the charming Pont Aveyron bridge. If you’re arriving on a Sunday, do note it’s market day, so parking may be a bit tighter until the stalls pack up—but soon after, nearby spaces open just a short stroll from the house.
What time is check-in, and how does it work?
Check-in is from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Your host will be onsite to personally welcome you and walk you through the house. If, for any reason, the host isn’t available, or check in needs to be later a secure door code will be sent to you prior to 4:00pm on the day of arrival—ensuring a smooth and easy start to your stay.
Are there Stairs?
Yes—the house is part of a 400-year-old storybook village, and with that charm comes a few steps. There are stairs leading up from the street to the front entrance, and an interior staircase connecting the living area to the bedrooms and bathroom above. While they add to the home's character, they may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or for the very elderly.
Does the house have TV and entertainment?
We’ve intentionally created a TV-free sanctuary to invite deeper rest and connection. In its place, you’ll find a vintage-style Marshall Bluetooth speaker to score your stay with your own music or our curated Spotify playlists, crafted to match the mood of the house. Scattered throughout are artful coffee table books, beautifully designed magazines, and well-loved novels—ready to inspire quiet moments. Classic card games offer a touch of nostalgic fun, and for those who wish to stream on their own devices, our high-speed WiFi keeps the outside world just within reach.

Curated Products for Your Stay
We’re pleased to offer a selection of high-end, refillable products for our kitchen and bathroom from brands like Aesop, Diptyque and Marius Fabre. Pantry staples are thoughtfully stored in re-fillable vessels throughout the kitchen. Mariage Frères leaf tea for our teapot and cotton muslin tea bags, ground coffee, sugar, French salt, peppercorns, olive oil and vinegar. We kindly ask that if you empty any of these, please leave the containers in the cupboard so we can refill them for future guests. These premium, eco-conscious touches add a unique layer of care to your stay, and we ask that you use them mindfully so we can continue to offer this luxury. We also encourage guests to run the dishwasher only when it’s full to conserve water and energy. If there are bedding items you don’t plan to use (for example, if it’s too warm), please fold them thoughtfully and set them aside—this helps us know not to wash unnecessary linens. We also appreciate guests turning off lights and using heating only when needed to reduce energy consumption.
Our Commitment to Sustainability

What other products can I expect to find?
To make your stay as comfortable as possible, we provide a thoughtful selection of essentials in stay-appropriate amounts. This includes shampoo, body wash, hand wash, dish liquid, and a surface spray for kitchen cleaning, as well as paper towel. You’ll also find a few rolls of toilet paper to get you started. We also provide towels and bedding for your stay.
Is there heating and air conditioning?
The house does not have air conditioning, but its traditional thick stone walls, south-facing orientation, double-glazed windows, and internal shutters all help keep it to be naturally cooler in summer. We also provide portable fans that can be placed in bedrooms or moved to the living area for added comfort. In winter, warmth comes from efficient electric wall heaters and a beautiful gas potbelly stove that quickly fills the space with a cozy, inviting heat.
Does the house have outdoor space?
As a charming village home, the house itself doesn’t include private outdoor space—but just steps away, you’ll discover a wealth of beautiful parks, riverside spots, and scenic walks in every direction. Perfect for picnics, fresh air, and soaking in the timeless beauty of the village surroundings.
Can I smoke in the house?
The house is strictly non-smoking to preserve its character, scent, and comfort for all guests. If you wish to smoke, we kindly ask that you do so outside with the door closed, and that cigarette butts are disposed of thoughtfully in the bin provided. Thank you for helping us keep the space fresh and welcoming.
Can I bring pets or children?
To preserve the tranquility, refined décor, and unique character of the house, we offer an adult-only stay and do not allow pets. We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain the calm, curated atmosphere of the space.
What services are in the village?

Just a short stroll away, you’ll find scenic walking trails, kayaking on the river, a doctor’s office, pharmacy, traditional boulangeries, and even a town swimming pool to refresh and unwind. Or go nature and swim in the river.
Can we have hens, stag nights, or parties?
To preserve the peaceful charm and comfort of our historic village home—and out of respect for our neighbours—we kindly ask that no hens, stag nights, or parties be held on the property, and that general noise be kept to a minimum. We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain a serene and welcoming environment for all guests.

We kindly ask all guests to treat the house with respect and care to ensure it remains a special retreat for everyone.
